Poseidon

By: Blake Schultz

Parents: The Titan Cronus and Rhea

God/Goddess of: Seas, Earthquakes, and Horses.

Significant Children: Theseus (a demigod), Triton (a guy mermaid), Aiolos (the God of Winds)

Interesting Story: When the Trojan War started Poseidon was siding with

the Greeks. This is because after he and Apollo built the Trojan's wall but the

king refused to give them pay of any kind so Poseidon was not very happy.

Because he was so mad he sent the sea monster, Ketos Aithiopois, (also known as

Eithiopian Cetus) to attack the Trojans. (He also sent the monster because of

the queens rant about how much more beautiful her daughter was than one

of the most beautiful goddesses.) He allowed the king and queen 2 options. 1. Sacrafice there whole

city, or 2. Surrender their daughter to the monster. It was at this time when the hero

Persues was flying back to greece. He had slayed Medusa and now had her head. Persues

defeated the using the head of Medusa monster and saved the city and princess.
